The Seoul Agenda: Goals for the development of arts education

Dear all,

This is a very important message from the President of InSEA— Rita Irwin. Please see the detail below and download the related document.

Dear InSEA Members
UNESCO has published ‘The Seoul Agenda: Goals for the Development of Arts Education’ on its website.  The Seoul Agenda was a major outcome of the Second UNESCO World Conference on Arts Education held in Seoul, Republic of Korea in May 2010.
Please find the final version of the Seoul Agenda online at the UNESCO website:
http://www.unesco.org/culture/en/artseducation
It is featured on the first page but also outlined in the “Outcomes” of the Conference 2010 section where you can download the pdf document at:
http://portal.unesco.org/culture/en/ev.php-URL_ID=39949&URL_DO=DO_TOPIC&URL_SECTION=201.html
This document is currently available in English and will be translated into French.
The Survey of UNESCO Member States is also included on this site and is provided in English, French, Spanish and Russian.
In the coming months, the InSEA World Council will consider The Seoul Agenda to determine how we might integrate, or extend, the goals of The Seoul Agenda.  The WAAE Presidential Council will also discuss how we might coordinate our efforts with our partner organizations.  Moreover, we hope that each InSEA member uses the UNESCO documents in their advocacy, networking and research efforts locally, nationally and internationally as we collaboratively work to make a difference in art education.
With thanks
Rita Irwin
InSEA, President
